Going to the doctor has always been an arduous affair. First there is the nagging symptom; a niggling pain that just doesn’t go away or a rash that is becoming more obvious and embarrassing. Or perhaps you’ve already been given a diagnosis and tried a myriad of therapies geared to that particular problem and all to no avail. Nothing seems to work.

To seek out help for a concern that is occurring in your body can be a trial, either frightening for the feeling that your body is betraying you or frustrating in finding no cure.

As a Naturopathic Physician I have tried to appreciate and understand how this situation is for each and every patient who comes to see me. In my practice, people have come for a wide range of problems from the acute - as in sports injuries, car accidents, repetitive strain trauma – to the long term - such as an inability to lose weight, chronic fatigue, infection, hypertension, immune compromise or stress reactions. My unique belief is that the treatment is not in using a designated therapy for a condition but rather in unravelling how one’s body has obscured the ways in which it may ameliorate an illness on its own. This is the major tenet of Naturopathic medicine, Vis Mediatrix Naturae, "our body’s ability to heal itself”, to self rectify, to find its own way.

This may sound like an abstraction or theory, but my experience (first as a Chiropractor for ten years and following that as a Naturopathic physician since 1989,) has shown me that this is the only way to resolve health concerns. Thus my practice is concerned with finding the way that your body can regain homeostasis and cure itself.

To that end I have explored and become proficient in a wide number of disciplines. I am board certified in Chelation Therapy, Oxidative (Ozone) Therapeutics and Acupuncture. In addition, I utilise manipulative medicine, osteopathic cranial sacral therapy, homeopathic medicine and nutritional as well as herbal and detoxification therapeutics. I have trained in Europe, Asia and throughout North America and am especially grateful to my mentors in the arts of Applied & Clinical Kinesiology, neural therapy and the teaching hospitals of Beijing, Shanghai and the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vancouver.

In our clinic we use a wide number of testing procedures to help us create a “map” to encourage your natural recovery process. These involve blood, saliva, urine and hormone analyses as well as cardiovascular assessment tools and biological age markers.

It is in the construction of this unique path that reveals your strengths to reverse a trend, which has inhibited the full enjoyment of your life, that I feel most effective as a Naturopathic Physician. Not all illnesses can be cured, and at times it is only the quality of our life that may be the ground in which we may experience a “healing”. But I am thankful to be a witness and a support to such a courageous process
