Breast Health Program
Integrative Breast Health Program
To support women in their journey to optimal health and wellness, Dr. Katie Leah, Naturopathic Physician, and Integrative Healing Arts are proud to announce to Vancouver the Integrative Breast Health Program.
Breast cancer is the most common life threatening cancer among women in Canada. It is estimated that in 2010 there will be over 23200 cases diagnosed in Canada.
Despite advances in the search for the cure, more focus is needed on proactive and preventative breast health.
Many women are paralyzed into inactivity by their fear of breast cancer. Breast cancer does not develop overnight. There is time and opportunity to identify and modify personal risk factors.
Each woman has a unique set of factors that contribute to her breast health and risk for breast cancer. These include: diet, lifestyle, genetics, estrogen exposure, stress factors, physical and mental-emotional well-being. Our goal is to take these factors into consideration to help you achieve your optimal breast health. We also want to help raise awareness, promote breast health and help women prevent breast disease.
All women can benefit from the Integrative Breast Health Program. This program is especially important for you if any of the following apply:
- A family history of breast cancer
- Breast pain or swelling
- Long term hormone replacement therapy or birth control pill use
- A diagnosis of breast cancer
- Interest in screening and prevention
- Concern or worry about your breast health
During your initial consultation, you will meet with one of our highly trained clinical associates to perform a Computerized Regulation Thermography (CRT) exam. The CRT is a non-invasive, non-radiation scan of the breasts and organs. The CRT does not diagnose breast cancer. It does identify changes that occur before cancer develops. Following your CRT, you will meet with Naturopathic Physician, Dr. Katie Leah for a review of your Breast Health History and Risk Assessment, a breast exam and an Individualized Healthy Breast Plan will follow.
Breasts come in all shapes and sizes and no two pairs are alike. Help put your mind at ease. Be proactive about your breast health. Take part in a program that is as unique and individual to you as your breasts are.
